Terri Adams • Head Coach
In her nine seasons, Saint Joseph's head coach Terri Adams has transformed the Hawks into one of the elite teams in the Atlantic 10 and the region. The 2013 A-10 Coach of the Year has led her squad to seven Atlantic 10 Tournament appearances and three A-10 title games, with 25 Hawks earning All-Conference honors and 12 garnering All-Region accolades.
Headed by a youthful squad in 2014, Saint Joseph’s advanced to the semifinals of the A-10 Championship and finished the season with a 22-20 mark. Helping juniors Melissa Ruf and Ashley Alden to A-10 All-conference honors, Adams earned her 200th career victory in SJU’s victory over Dayton at the A-10 Championship.
Along with Ruf and Alden’s honors, rookie Niki Carillo became the first SJU pitcher named to the A-10 All-Rookie squad, while Alden and sophomore Hannah Dionne were selected to NFCA All-Region squads.
Brooke Darreff • Assistant Coach
Helping the Hawks to the Atlantic 10 regular season title and the championship game of the A-10 Tournament a season ago, for Saint Joseph’s standout Brooke Darreff returns for her second season with her alma mater.
A former standout catcher, Darreff returned to Hawk Hill in 2013 after spending the previous season as a graduate assistant at Temple.
Wearing the Saint Joseph's jersey from 2006 to 2010, Darreff was named A-10 All-Conference three times, and was selected the 2008 A-10 Player of the Year. Leading the Hawks to three A-10 Tournament berths, she is one of just six players in program history to amass 100 hits and 100 RBIs, while her .461 batting average from 2008 remains a program record. Upon graduation she received both the 2010 A-10 Sporting Award and the Saint Joseph's Class of 1950 Award.
Jen Mineau • Assistant Coach
Former All-American pitcher Jen Mineau begins her first season as an assistant coach at Saint Joseph's in 2014-15.
Mineau joins the SJU staff after spending the previous two years at Seton Hill University. Joining the Griffins as an assistant coach in 2013, she served as the team's interim head coach in 2014.
Under Mineau's guidance, Seton Hill posted the best start to a season, going 12-3 to begin 2014 and finished with a 20-20 overall record while the team set the single season record for batting average (.315). Individually, four Griffins earned All-PSAC West honors, and two were named to the NFCA Division II All-Atlantic Region Team. Other highlights included Carlee Wickstrom setting the single season record for home runs (12) and freshman pitcher Amanda Huff tossing a no-hitter in her first collegiate game.
Gary Falasca • Assistant Coach
Returning for his fifth season with the Hawks is Gary Falasca. An experienced ASA coach, he spent the past 12 years coaching at the youth level before joining Saint Joseph’s in 2010.
During his tenure with the Hawks, Falasca has helped SJU to a 119-73-1 overall record, four Atlantic 10 Tournament appearances and two appearances in the A-10 Championship games. Additionally, 15 Hawks have earned A-10 All-Conference honors under Falasca’s direction, while the team has won several in-season tournament including the 2011 Carolina Classic Tournament title and the 2010 UMBC Classic championship.
Falasca, who began coaching ASA team in 1997, served as head coach for the Lehigh Valley Flames for four seasons. From there, he spent two seasons as an assistant with the Springford Sting before joining the Blazing Angels for the past three years.
